Deus Ladies Log Fest

Welcome to the second annual Ladies Log Fest at the Deus 9’ & Single. The Canggu right-hander looked so damn classy with the ladies in the water. The ladies division was a highlight during our event. They shared more waves and stoke than any of the other competitors and though we finished with a winner, the event never once seemed like competition.

Josh Hall x Sea Level TV

Josh Hall is a young, ambitious shaper who blends San Diego’s legendary surfing history and culture with progressive designs. In this short film, we dig into his formidable Pacific Beach (“PB”) roots. Josh runs us through seminal life events involving local legends Skip Frye, Joe Roper, and Eric “Bird” Huffman. We learn what specifically led him to his current state of mind and business, though he humbly maintains that his path has been akin to a decree of divine providence. As the heir apparent, Josh balances the weight of the responsibility of carrying on this distinct cultural legacy with his sizable business aspirations.

A wonderful short film on San Diego shaper Josh Hall by the fine folks at Sea Level TV. We learn about his early influences and where he is going in the future.

asher pacey

Asher Pacey is one humble dude both in and out the water. Growing up without electricity and learning to survive off the land probably helped in that respect. It's clear Asher values the small things in life that most people take for granted. Filmmaker Matt Kleiner brings us a unique insight into the mind of one of the stylish and respectful surfers out there today. Trevor Gordon's Tail Fin Trials

Trevor Gordon worked with shaper Ryan Lovelace to create four weird iterations of a finless surfboard. With nothing but curiosity and intuition guiding them, the boards were made with radical asymmetrical lines coming to a pointed tail on the toe side. The following is a showcase of Trevor's trials with each board. Asher Pacey

They say the best surfer in the lineup is the one who is having the most amount of fun. What better example of fun is there than this short film of Asher Pacey shapeshifting his way through some novelty little peelers at home. Jon Wegener: Human

Jon Wegener's handcrafted alaia (Ah-LIE-ah) boards pay homage to surfings early days - reaching all the way back to the sport's Polynesian roots. He's a craftsman, open to new ideas while being reverent of the old ways. Every board he shapes is a reminder that surfing is about more than contests or chasing sponsorships...
